Farewell, Icterus!

For once I am going to do an out-of-character post as I have to tell you something I cannot possibly wrap into some nice in-character story.

I learned that my dear friend who was known as Icterus Dagger had decided to leave the virtual world. While I understand and respect his decision, it makes me sad to lose a very good friend.

He was always there for me when I needed someone to talk. We had a lot of fun in the old days, lurking around the Tamrannoch Sanatorium or having tea at my old homestead on the other side of the Stone Circle Hill.

Icterus was not only a good listener, he showed me incredible kindness in many ways. For instance, I once told him I would love to have an aquarium in my home but those that were available in-world would not fit into a Victorian home. So Icterus researched and made me a real Victorian fish tank!

The logo for my little photography business is also his creation. Shortly before he logged out of the virtual world for the last time, he gave me a copy of a paddle-wheeled boat which he started working on back in the old Tam days. He once was planning to sell them but alas the waters of Caledon will have to do without Icterus's lovely boat. At least one one vesel, named "Lady Bauerhoff", will serve as a memory of its wonderful creator.

I fear that Icterus will soon be forgotten in the fast changing world of Caledon and the virtual world at large. I however will always remember my dear friend.

Farewell, dear Icterus! It was an honour knowing you. You will be missed on the shores of our fair Caledon.

Your friend

Abigail

While I didn't know him well, I did have several interesting conversations with him. It's always sad when a friend decides to leave and head in another direction.

Frau Baronessa,

I am dismayed to read your news; departures seem to happen so abruptly in this realm. I sincerely hope it was not for reasons of malign or negative effect.

He was working on the Caledon motto, was he not? Did he ever complete that project, or hand it off to someone else?

Yrs.,
